Dr. David J. K. Smith, Dentist

Dr. David Smith had some unpleasant experiences at the dentist when he was young. What inspired him to become a dentist was thinking that there must be a better way to experience going to the dentist. And did he ever prove that to be true! It is nearly impossible to be uncomfortable around Dr. Smith. With his friendly, easy going personality, Dr. Smith makes everyone feel like they are a part of his family, and he truly cares for everyone like they are family. We think the name 'Smith Family Dentistry' is appropriate!

Dr. Smith has been a dentist in St. Catharines for 36 years and joined practices with Dr. Ray Goodine and Dr. Bruce Milligan. Dr. Smith has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in chemistry from the University of Waterloo and attended the University of Western Ontario for his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). In addition, when he was in his forties, he went to Brock University for a degree in mathematics - just for the fun of it!

Dr. Judene S. J. Smith, Dentist

Dr. Judene Smith (married name Benoit) has wanted to be a dentist ever since she was a young girl. Her father, Dr. David Smith, would bring home little pink plastic dental mirrors that she would play with. She would tell everyone that she 'enjoyed working with teeth,’ even though the only teeth she 'worked with' were her dolls!

Now Dr. Judene is passionate about helping people have a healthy, problem-free mouth and has done extensive research into the systemic connection with cavities. In 2015 she published her book, How to Stop Cavities: A Natural Approach to Prevention and Remineralization. She is currently focusing her research on the specific biochemical profiles that tend towards certain dental problems.

Dr. Judene attended the University of Western Ontario for a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in biology and then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy. She grew up in St. Catharines and attended high school at Holy Cross Secondary.

Dr. Judene lives in St. Catharines with her husband, Andre, and their little furry baby, Cara (a Wheaten Terrier!). She enjoys hiking with Cara and cooking.

Dr. Daryl W. J. Smith, Dentist

Dr. Daryl is passionate about dentistry and hockey.  Not too many times these two passions come together but for Dr. Daryl they do because he is the ICE DOGS DENTIST! You will find him there at every home game cheering them on and hoping the players are wearing their mouth guards properly.  Dr. Daryl will be happy to get you free tickets to a game so all you need to do is ask.
When Dr. Daryl is not busy watching the Ice Dogs he is busy serving all of the dentists in Niagara.  He has held every position on the board of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association including president.  This means he is involved with more serious things like proper continuing education for the dentists as well as planning fun party times for the dentists and dental team members.
And when he is not busy with the Ice Dogs or the Niagara Dental Association, Dr. Daryl teaches at Niagara College for the Dental Hygiene Program.
Dr. Daryl didn't always want to be a dentist.  He graduated from Queen's University Mechanical Engineering program and worked as an engineer until he decided he wanted to build bridges in people's mouths, not for cars.  He attended University of Western Ontario for dental school and graduated in 2006.  He attended Holy Cross Secondary School in St. Catharines for high school.
Dr. Daryl is married to Nadia, a pharmacist, and has two lovely girls, Anika and Sofia.
