She would tell everyone that she 'enjoyed working with teeth,’ even though the only teeth she 'worked with' were her dolls!

Now Dr. Judene is passionate about helping people have a healthy, problem-free mouth. She is a founding member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health.

Dr. Judene attended the University of Western Ontario for a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in biology and then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy. She grew up in St. Catharines and attended high school at Holy Cross Secondary.

Dr. Judene lives in the countryside of the beautiful Niagara Region with her husband, Andre, and their two boys, Wilder and Huxley.

Dr. Judene feels absolutely honoured to be the owner of Smith Family Dentistry. She is grateful for the opportunity to take over her father’s business and still work alongside her brother, Dr Daryl.

You will find him there at every home game cheering them on and hoping the players are wearing their mouth guards properly. Dr. Daryl will be happy to get you free tickets to a game so all you need to do is ask.

When Dr. Daryl is not busy watching the Ice Dogs he is busy serving all of the dentists in Niagara. He has held every position on the board of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association including president. This means he is involved with more serious things like proper continuing education for the dentists as well as planning fun party times for the dentists and dental team members.

And when he is not busy with the Ice Dogs or the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association, Dr. Daryl teaches at Niagara College for the Dental Hygiene Program.

Dr. Daryl didn't always want to be a dentist. He graduated from Queen's University Mechanical Engineering program and worked as an engineer until he decided he wanted to build bridges in people's mouths, not for cars. He attended University of Western Ontario for dental school and graduated in 2006. He attended Holy Cross Secondary School in St. Catharines for high school.

Dr. Daryl is married to Nadia, a pharmacist, and has two lovely girls, Anika and Sofia.

Dr. Ross owned his own dental practice in Ottawa for many years, and was always thrilled to be a part of his patient's lives on a personal and professional level. Watching his patient's families grow over time gave him great joy.

When he & his wife Nancy decided to relocate to the Niagara area, he realized that leaving Dentistry was not an option....And wasn't he super lucky to have found this very special office! All of the staff have been welcoming, and the professionalism that he has observed with our patients is heartwarming.

His determination to be a dentist never faltered throughout his life. Dr. Izzo graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Mathematics, with first class standing. He continued his education at Brock University obtaining his Bachelor of Education Degree. He is licenced to teach Secondary Mathematics and Biology/Science with the Ontario College of Teachers. Dr. Izzo then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry, in Michigan.

Dr. Izzo grew up in the farming community of Vineland with his three brothers. They spent their summers working on the farm and swimming at the Jordan Lions Pool. He then became a Life Guard, Swim Instructor and later, Head Guard at the Jordan Lions Pool throughout his High School and University years.

Along with his interest in mathematics and the sciences, he also enjoys music. In his spare time he plays the guitar, drums, and piano. He also took a run at the trumpet in high school. Apologies to whoever may have heard him at the time.

Dr. Izzo volunteers in his community and at the Children’s Wish Foundation. The latter being very close to his heart. Every Christmas, while vacationing in Florida, Dr. Izzo volunteers at Give Kids the World in Orlando. He hopes to make a positive difference in children’s lives, the way others made a difference in his youngest brother’s life.

He completed his undergraduate training in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Toronto followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the very same institution. He was the recipient of several academic awards and was inducted into the Omricon Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Honour Society in recognition of his academic achievements. He subsequently completed his MSc and advanced specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery, also at the University of Toronto. His research, which was focused on protein biochemistry, cell biology and matrix dynamics, has been published and presented at several international meetings.

Dr Hassanali provides the full scope of surgical periodontal and dental implant therapy. In addition to the conventional periodontal procedures such as pocket reduction and crown lengthening, Dr Hassanali has a special interest in esthetic and reconstructive periodontics. These procedures include soft tissue grafting for correction of gingival recession, periodontal regeneration, pre-prosthetic site development including alveolar ridge augmentation, maxillary sinus floor augmentation (both direct and indirect), and guided bone regeneration (GBR). Dr Hassanali believes in prevention first and foremost. He strives to provide his patients with the best treatment options available focusing on what is necessary for their long term oral health.

Dr Hassanali is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, and Ontario Society of Periodontists. He continues to maintain strong affiliation to the University of Toronto as an Associate in Dentistry, where he contributes to the surgical training of residents in the Implant Prosthdontics Unit. Dr Hassanali also lectures to dentists on topics limited to Periodontics and Implant Surgery.
